Kugler makes the call
Pittsburgh (Pa.) North Allegheny defensive end Robert Kugler has decided where he will be spending the next few years of his life after he graduates from high school.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect from the Keystone State has decided on the Big Ten and he doesn't see himself changing his mind unless something drastic happens.
"I called coach (Gary) Nord from Purdue earlier today and committed," Kugler said. "He was real excited. I could tell he was excited. He told me he's excited to have me. He told me he was happy to have me, not just because he's a coach there but because he thinks it's a good choice for me.
"I visited (Purdue) a couple of months ago with my dad and really fell in love with the place. The campus is great, the coaches are awesome and I can really see myself playing football there and going to school there.
"The only thing holding me back was that I wanted to visit a couple of other schools that had offered. I visited Stanford and I visited Syracuse again and I realized that Purdue is where I want to be."
Don't expect Kugler to visit other schools to have a change of heart down the road. He's sure of his choice and plans on sticking with his decision.
"I'm committed and I'm going to stick with Purdue," he reiterated. "I talked it over with my parents and everything, so I don't see myself changing my mind."
Prior to making his decision Kugler had picked up offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Stanford, Syracuse, West Virginia and several others.
