Rogers is a name to watch
When it comes to the Class of 2012 in the state of Iowa, Charles Rogers is definitely a name to watch. This past week, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Rogers, who just finished his sophomore year of high school at Iowa City West, became the first in-state football prospect in his class to pick up a Division I scholarship offer, which came from Iowa State.
The Cyclones are initially offering Rogers as an athlete as he is a high school quarterback that could also play wide receiver or defensive back in college. At Oklahoma's camp last week, the Iowa City native got an extended look at wideout and received some positive reviews.
After returning home, Rogers' next stop was just down the road as he attended Iowa's one-day camp on Saturday. The Hawkeyes had him work at three different positions - safety, receiver, and quarterback - as they continue to evaluate his skills.
