2012 QB Pike has BC offer
QB Zeke Pike of Edgewood (Ken.) Dixie Heights has positioned himself as one of the top signal callers in the country for the Class of 2012. With Boston College being one of his first offers, and with Pike already taking a visit to the campus during the summer, EagleAction.com spoke with the quarterback last night about hectic recruitment, his junior season, and the Eagles.
Pike, 6-foot-5 and 220-pounds, already held upward of 20 offers at the beginning of September, and that pace has not slowed up at all.
"Truthfully just about everybody has offered now," said Pike. "Everybody who I have spoken with said that they have a spot for me."
In the meantime, Pike is continually attempting to improve his game on the field.
"The season is going great," he said. "We're 3-3 and we have played some really great teams. I think I am like 52 of 87 with 826 yards passing and I have rushed for 520 yards this year."
Pike is still optimistic that his team can reach impressive heights this season.
"The goal is to be perfect and give everything, like it's your last play, and then reach our ultimate goal, which is a state championship," said Pike.
Even with his countless offers, Boston College remains hot on his trail and sends daily letters.
"It's a great school and a great program," said Pike. "A lot of hard working, blue collar players that are unselfish and give it their all."
Leading the way for the BC coaching staff in Pike's recruitment has been Coach Mike Siravo.
"He's a great guy," said Pike. "All of their staff is true, honest, and great people."
After a hectic summer schedule which saw him visit several programs, Pike is taking it easy this fall and is instead concentrating on his junior season at Dixie Heights. While he stated that he might take a visit or two later this fall, look for him to resume his busy visiting schedule once again next spring.
EagleAction.com will continue to stay in touch with Pike throughout the course of his hectic recruitment!
