KU captures share of seventh straight Big 12 title
Three weeks ago, none of this seemed possible. Winning a seventh straight Big 12 regular season championship no longer appeared to be realistic following KU's 16 points loss to Kansas State in Manhattan. In trailing Texas by two games, it looked like Bill Self's squad would have to re-evaluate their goals. However, something unexpected happened along the way. While No. 2 ranked Kansas (28-2; 13-2) continued its winning ways, Texas has dropped three of its last four games. Seemingly headed in opposite directions, the Jayhawks clinched at least a share of their seventh straight Big 12 regular season championship on Wednesday night, and can claim the title outright by defeating Missouri on Saturday.
