2013 OL wants to visit soon
Toms River (N.J.) Monsignor Donovan offensive tackle Brad Henson already has offers from BC, Rutgers, UCF and West Virginia so you're not exactly going out on a limb if you talk about him as one of the region's top linemen from 2013.
The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Garden State offensive guard has one game remaining in his junior season. Once that game is behind him he'll turn a good portion of his attention to the recruiting process. Henson has already been thinking about his future but there are even more trips on the horizon.
"I know I'm going to be at Boston College (for a visit) once the season is over," Henson explained.
The offer is one reason Henson wants to check out the Eagles. He's also intrigued because BC has made it very clear that he's one of their top line targets from 2013. Henson appreciates that interest.
"They've been talking to me a lot," Henson said of the Eagles. "I've been up there for the camps but I haven't been up for a real visit. I've talked to Coach (Mike) Dawson quite a bit and Coach (Sean) Devine a little bit. Those are the two coaches I've talked to.
"I've been following them this year, too. I know they're young. They've got a lot of young guys so that's part of the rebuilding process. I really like Coach Devine and the way he coaches. I get along well with him."
Henson told EagleAction.com that he has improved dramatically in pass protection this year.
"I actually switched from guard to center and I've picked it up pretty well," he noted. "Most schools are looking at me to play guard or tackle. I've played everything."
West Virginia is the only school that has told Henson they like him as both a center and a guard.
