Insider Report: Freshmen turn heads
For the second straight day Mother Nature had her way with the Florida State football team. Yesterday, it was lightning that forced the coaches and players to complete practice indoors. On Wednesday morning, there wasn't a cloud in the sky but the players got their first real dose of hot weather and it took a toll. At least five players had to leave the field early because of heat related issues.
"It was cramps and things like that," Bowden said of the players that were carted off. "Most of them got through it. We covered just about everything we wanted. We had to call off our running (conditioning) that we do after practice because of our time limit, but it was a good day of learning.
"We've been doing this 31 years so we know it's (heat) coming. There's no way of getting around it."
