Bennett's return gives Auburn depth at TE
The return of senior Cole Bennett makes the tight end position one of the most talented and deepest on Auburn's team.
Bennett was supposed to be preparing for the NFL Draft right now but a broken ankle against LSU prematurely ended his senior season. After considering all his options and receiving a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA, Bennett decided to return for a second try at his senior year.
Auburn tight ends coach Steve Ensminger is certainly pleased to have the talented and physical Bennett back.
"It's good to have him back just for his attitude, his leadership and how hard he works," said Ensminger.
Bennett has been going through winter workouts the past several weeks and appears to be back at full speed.
"His health looks good," said Ensminger. "He's been running good. His leg was a little sore the first week from all the change of direction stuff he had to do but this week he's looked outstanding."
