Koehlmoos closes in on state record
PIERCE, Neb. - Though it was back in 2002 when Matt Herian signed with Nebraska out of Pierce (Neb.) High School, the high school has a 2009 prospect who is drawing looks from several schools around the region.
That prospect is the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Eric Koehlmoos who has done a little bit of everything for Pierce.
As a junior, he was featured as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver and on defense as a free safety. He totaled 1,360 yards rushing with 31 touchdowns in 2007 along with seven touchdowns through the air. On defensive, he had eight interceptions, four of which he returned for touchdowns.
The two-time Class C-1 all-state selection is also closing in on the class career touchdown record of 72 with around 65 total right now. It's safe to say coach Mark Brahmer has plenty to be excited about having Koehlmoos for another year.
