A&M hoping for a Carolina connection
Texas A&M is doing something under its new coaching staff that is different than what they have ever done before. While the Aggies normally recruit almost exclusively in the Lone Star State, they have ventured to the east coast for the third time in two weeks in search of a difference-maker at defensive back.
Last week, A&M offered Charlotte (NC) Independence safety DeVonte Holloman and Duncan (SC) Byrnes safety Justin Bright. On Thursday, they ventured in to the Carolinas again to offer Rivals250 cornerback Terry Shankle.
"Yeah, Texas A&M called my coach today and offered me," said the Norwood (NC) South Stanly junior. "I haven't had a chance to talk to any of their coaches yet. I think my coach and I are gonna call them at school tomorrow."
