KU wins 18 straight conference opener
Tuesday nights Sunflower Show couldn't have been scripted any better for Kansas (12-4; 1-0). The Jayhawks blitzed Kansas State (11-5; 0-2) with an 18-0 run to start the game. While the Wildcats eventually closed the gap to three-points in the second half, the Jayhawks immediately responded, and cruised past their in-state rival, 87-71. Three players scored in double-figures for Kansas, including freshman Tyshawn Taylor, who poured in 20-points against the Wildcats.
Early on Kansas State simply had no answer for Kansas. Playing inside Allen Fieldhouse, where the Jayhawks have won 34 straight games, KU jumped out to an 18-0 lead.
