Paul Konyndyk
SpartanMag.com MINNEAPOLIS - SpartanMag.com staffers Jim Comparoni and Paul Konyndyk hustled from the airport to the Metrodome on Thursday to catch the team practice sessions of Michigan State, Robert Morris and Southern Cal.
The camera was rolling during the Robert Morris practice as the SpartanMag.com staffers gave analysis on the Colonials and broke down the games of the NEC champion's top players.
We started by watching NEC Player of the Year Jeremy Chappell, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior from Cincinnati Northwest High School. Chappell enters the NCAA tournament with 1,864 points, 675 rebounds, 335 assists, 264 steals, and 243 3-point field goals.
SpartanMag.com also took a close look Ohioan Jimmy Langhurst, the 3-point specialist who is the former AAU teammate of Spartan junior Raymar Morgan. After breaking down the game of Langhurst, SpartanMag.com staffers took a look at second-team NEC standout Rob Robinson, a junior college transfer that averaged 8.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Before watching Robert Morris, Comparoni and Konyndyk got a chance to watch Michigan State's practice session. At the end of the practice session, the Spartans gave the fans in attendance something to cheer about with a session-closing dunk contest.
