On October 30, 2008, Duke landed its first commitment for the '10 class when Lenoir (N.C.) Hibriten standout Darius Lipford announced his intentions to attend Duke. Since that time, interest has picked up for the 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete, as six more schools have come forward and offered him a scholarship.

At this point, in addition to Duke, he has received offers from Clemson, Virginia, South Carolina, East Carolina and two FCS level schools - Western Carolina and Elon.

Recently, Lipford has seen a handful of coaches on his campus to watch him in action, and the rising senior has held several phone conversations with many of the schools. The question now is how committed to Duke is the in-state talent.
