November 9, 2011Tim Joy could not make the Boston College-Florida State game last Thursday night because his North Chelmsford (Mass.) Chelmsford team had a late practice but even though the Eagles lost the outside linebacker is still not worried about the Eagles.
The team is young, there have been some mistakes made, but Joy sees it as an opportunity for him and the 2012 recruiting class to help turn things around once they get to Chestnut Hill.
"They're a really young team and with young teams there are going to be a lot of miscommunication," Joy said. "Not everything is going to click with them and a lot of games this year have been simple mistakes.
"I'm so excited to go. One bad season isn't going to change that much. You have to look at the history of BC. They always have a good program and coach (Frank Spaziani) is a great coach and we're going to get back on track."
Joy, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound two-star recruit by Rivals.com, said he's looking forward to his future at Boston College and being a part of the turnaround. He's confident the Eagles will get things straightened out and he's happy to help get Boston College back on the winning track in future seasons.
"That is definitely a good way to look at it, a positive way to look at it," Joy said. "I can be part of the new generation that really steps up and turns the program around."
Even though Joy, rated as the ninth-best prospect in the Massachusetts state rankings by Rivals.com, could not make it last week for the Florida State matchup he planned his official visit for the NC State game this weekend.
Joy, who has already visited Boston College multiple times, said he's really looking forward to spending the entire weekend in Chestnut Hill and meeting more of the players and coaches.
"I'm really excited to meet all the guys," Joy said.
"I met a lot of them already, I was there a few times in the summer, but I'm really excited to spend the night there and meet all of them and become closer with everybody there."
