Mamadou Seck's 20 points and seven assists led the Salukis (1-4), who were unable to overcome 35.2 percent shooting (19 of 54). Jeff Early had 13 points and T.J. Lindsay 10. Freshman forward George Fant's basket broke a 37-37 tie with 13:39 to go, and the Hilltoppers led the rest of the way. The lead peaked at 55-44 with 4:16 left. Western Kentucky outscored the Salukis 27-12 off the bench.
