North Carolina: North Carolina hung with the nation's best team on its home floor for nearly a half Tuesday night, but top-ranked Indiana pulled away late in the first half and early in the second half for a lopsided 83-59 triumph over the Tar Heels. IU All-American Cody Zeller led the way for the Hoosiers (7-0) with 20 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots. [Recap]

UAB-North Carolina Notes
UAB: In UAB's four victories, the Green and Gold have reached 75 points each time. The Blazers are 0-3 when failing to reach 75 points in a game.
UAB: The offense for UAB features a balanced attack, with all five starters almost averaging double figures. The Blazers have used the same starting lineup in all seven games consisting of: Jordan Swing (14.1 ppg), Rod Rucker (14.0 ppg), Fahro Alihodzic (10.6 ppg), Robert Williams (9.6 ppg) and Terence Jones (9.4 ppg).
UAB: UAB has done a great job of being unselfish with the basketball, leading C-USA in assists per game with 17.4 per contest. The Blazers have also been aggressive on defense, recording an average of 8.6 steals per game, ranking second in the league.
UAB: UAB head coach Jerod Haase both played and served as an assistant coach for current UNC head coach Roy Williams prior to taking the reigns of the Blazer basketball program. Haase played for Williams at Kansas from 1994-97 and was on Kansas' staff from 1999-2003. In addition, current UAB Director of Operations Bobby Frasor played at North Carolina from 2005-09, capturing a NCAA National Championship during his senior season. Another former Tar Heel on the UAB staff is graduate student manager David Dupont, who spent the last two seasons as a walk-on at UNC.
UAB: Jordan Swing scored in double figures in all seven games this season and his last nine contests dating back to last year. He tied a season-high with 18 pts including 16 in the second half at Troy.
UAB: Rod Parker posted a double-double at Troy (10 pts, 12 reb), vs. Navy (16 pts, 13 reb) and PVAMU (25 pts, 12 reb). He ranks in the top-10 in C-USA in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (57.7 percent). He also ranks second in total offensive rebounds (25).
UNC: Starting with the UAB game on Saturday evening, five of Carolina's six games in December to conclude the non-conference schedule will be played in the Smith Center, with the exception coming Dec. 19 at Texas. UNC's fall semester classes will end next week on Wednesday Dec. 5, and the final exam period will run from Dec. 7-14. Next up on the court after the UAB game is East Tennessee State on Saturday Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Smith Center.
