SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Pomfret (Md.) McDonough cornerback A.J. Wallace carries himself quietly and lets his play speak for itself. He has a calm, cool demeanor and doesn't let things bother him. His recruiting decision was a tough one, but he's happy with his choice of Penn State.

Wallace, the nation's No. 1 cornerback and No. 33 player overall, chose the Nittany Lions over Ohio State and joins a crew of Maryland players heading to Eastern Pennsylvania to play college ball.

Wallace announced along with Rivals100 defensive end Maurice Evans during halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. After making some comments about the honor of participating in the event, Wallace and Evans picked up Penn State hats.

"We both will be going to Penn State," Wallace said.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder could also play some offense for Penn State a la Justin King this past season, one of the things that interested him in PSU.

"It's really special to be in this game," Wallace said.

Evans knew there wouldn't be much suspense regarding his announcement on Saturday and joked about it at times all week.

A Rivals100 member and the No. 4 strongside defensive end in the country, Evans chose PSU over early offers from Virginia, Miami and others. His only official visit was to Happy Valley and he's been there four times in the last eight months.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Evans joins one of the nation's best defensive line classes for Joe Paterno and will team up with East teammate Jared Odrick for years to come.
