Lafayette at Georgetown Recap

WASHINGTON (AP) Max Walzenegger caught a 13-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to give Georgetown a 14-13 win over Lafayette on Saturday night in the Patriot League opener for both teams.

Isiah Kempf completed 21 of 37 passes for 196 yards, including the game-winning TD to Walzenegger with 6:09 remaining.

It was the second straight win in the series for the Hoyas (2-0), who had lost the previous six to Lafayette.

The Leopards (0-2) came up short despite having the advantage in total yards and time of possession. Lafayette finished with 296 yards; Georgetown had 269. The Leopards also had the ball nearly eight minutes longer than the Hoyas, who were held to 73 yards rushing.

Lafayette had scored 10 straight points to overcome a 7-3 deficit. Andrew Shoop hit Mitchell Bennett with a 39-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter Austin O'Brien kicked a 31-yard field goal with 10:02 to play.
