The Tar Heels return to action Saturday night at 7:00 pm in the ACC Tournament against N.C. State. The Tar Heels cannot advance to Sunday's championship game, but they could keep NCSU from advancing to the title game if they beat them, while also strengthening their resume for a possible 'National Seed' in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The announcers at this afternoon's ACC game said the only tickets left for tonight's game are a few general admission tickets.

I will take a 1 run Tar Heel win but would love to see an a.. whipping laid on state college.

I'm here at the game and it is a huge crowd. Seems to be an equal mix of red and blue. I use the word "mix" lightly because these two colors simply do not go together.

DF, we have a steep hill to climb tonight, but it sure would be nice to silence the wuffies early and keep it that way.

Announced crowd of 10,229 tonight. That's an ACC tournament attendance record as well as a state of North Carolina college baseball attendance record. The previous high for the tourney was 8,500.

I have a stupid question. If UNC is the highest seed in its bracket, why have they been the visiting team in two of their three games at the tourney?

No score in the top of the 9th. The tension here is palpable.

Adam Griffin has bounced a hit through the right side, and Carolina finally breaks through and takes a 1-0 lead in the top of the twelfth inning. UNC still has to get three more outs but they're close to getting what would be a sweet win over N.C. State, knocking them out of the finals.

Heels break it open in the 12th to take a 4-0 lead. Morin comes back out and gets the first three boaters to fly out and the 'Heels send the pups back home!

Great win by the heels in what was one of the best games I have seen all year long. As much as I despise all things moo, they are LOADED with young talent. The kid pitching tonight was fantastic and he is a freshman. Unfortunately we will see him for three more years, but tonight it wasn't enough as their bullpen let them down in the 12th.

I hate we won't be playing for the ACC title tomorrow, but at least we kept the pups from playing! Now it is on to the NCAA tournament and I hope another trip to Omaha!

so glad the Heels won! Hope this is the year for another run to Omaha and a little luck when we get there. My daughter graduated HS with one of our freshman...Grayson Atwood, so i have a special reason to pull for the Heels for the next few years!

Just a small sampling from crackride. I know it irks them so but I love the meltdowns they have when they realize they have to admit they are, in fact, inferior.

Such an epic failure. So NC State. I'm fairly certain I will die with no recollection of NCSU winning anything of note.

They're going to probably score 5 runs here and make it look like they blew us out.

Why can't we ever beat UNC in ANYTHING when something is on the line?

And some wanted to play UNC in the Elite 8 with a spot in the Final Four on the line.. we all know how that would have turned out.

They would have beat us even without Marshall.

NC State - Wasting opportunities since 1989.

Face it, we will never win another ACC championship in any meaningful sport ever again.
