Decision on the horizon?

Robert Kugler was one of the first prospects in the class of 2011 that the Syracuse Orange offered. Now as time has passed Kugler has broken down his list of schools and is about to take one more visit before he could possibly make his decision.

"Recruiting is going good. I am checking out Stanford next week and after that I will have seen pretty much all the schools I want to."

The 6-foot-3, 240 pounds Kugler has not taken many visits since a couple trips in March. The two schools he visited that month were Syracuse and Purdue both schools are in Kugler's top five.

"Just Syracuse and Purdue really were the last trips I took. I really like them both and they are in my top schools along with Boise St. and Stanford."

One school that has not been visited yet is Boise St. a visit there however is not as important as others right now in the process.

"I was going to try and do that this summer. If I can't it is not too big a deal because we lived there for a year," Kugler said. "I know Boise St. pretty well."

With the top five in place and the visits scheduled Kugler talked about what he likes about the schools at the top of his list.

Syracuse : "I really like the coaches and the university. I have been there three or four times and really liked it. Plus I know some kids that go there and like it."

Boise St. : "Boise St. Because I have a good relationship with the coaches and they have been one of favorite colleges. They also can just win which is great."

Stanford : "Stanford because no other school can hold up to it academically which is high up for me. Plus I have heard it is amazing in Palo Alto."

Colorado St. : "Colorado State is in my top five too because they were the first school to offer me."

Purdue : "I visited there with my dad and thought the school was great. They offered me when I was there and I came away really liking it plus the big 10 was always something I loved."

One item that Kugler has heard involving the Big Ten is that they may expand. One of the schools that made Kugler's list of favorites is a talked about Big Ten target and he would not mind if they switched over to the Big Ten.

"I have heard about Syracuse maybe going to the Big Ten and think it would be great. The Big Ten is a great conference."

Could a decision now be on the horizon for Kugler now that he has broken his schools down?

"I want to have it all decided within the next month or two. It will be between those schools and I kind of have an idea of what I want to do, but I have still got some thinking to do."
