Harrington will have options

Cedar Falls junior James Harrington is not sure yet where he wants to go to college or even what sport he wants to play, but one thing is for certain, he will have some options. The 6-foot-0, 170-pound Harrington, who excels at football, basketball, and track, was in Iowa City on Sunday for a junior day with the Hawkeyes.

As a junior, Harrington caught 31 passes for 742 yards and nine touchdowns in leading Cedar Falls to an 11-1 record. The Class of 2012 prospect has seen his recruiting interest really pick up since the season ended.

Harrington is also a standout point guard for Cedar Falls, currently averaging 20.3 points per game. He landed his first scholarship offer from Indiana State last summer and is hearing from a number of others as well.

The final sport on his plate is track where as a sophomore last spring he won a state title in the 200-meter dash and was a champion in the 100-meter dash at the Drake Relays. Harrington is receiving track interest from Iowa, Iowa State, and Wisconsin at the moment.
