Louisiana DE Enjoying the Process

As the Houston Cougars continue to rebuild the defense and load it up with top-notch 3-4 talent, recruiting the next few years will become even more important as they try to fill needs along the line.

One player the Cougars would surely love to land is Destrehan, Louisiana strongside defensive end Bryan Singleton. CougarsDen caught up with the talented lineman on Wednesday night to talk about what's been going on in the world of recruiting for Singleton.

"Things are pretty much going the same," the 6-foot-4, 250-pound lineman said, "I've been to a few camps. I went to a camp at Houston for the Nike Football Training Camp."

Singleton really impressed at the Nike Camp and came away impressed with Houston as a whole both the university and the city.

"I Like Houston," said the Rivals three-star defensive end. "My sister lives there. I liked the camp it was real organized, I had fun with all the drills and the coaches, they taught me a lot,"

Singleton has quite a few offers to pick from, currently holding offers from Houston, Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette, Southern Miss and SMU.
Singleton doesn't really have a top five, but does have a favorite at the top of his list.

"I'm not really sure about a top three or top five," he said. "I just haven't really thought about it, but Arkansas stands out above the rest."

Whichever school is fortunate enough to land Singleton, will also likely add his talented teammate, Rivals three-star defensive tackle Marrick Charles, who CougarsDen recently profiled HERE

"We decided that when we do commit, it will most likely be to the same school," he said. "You'll know someone there and you'll have someone to motivate you. " Having someone there that you know would be helpful. He knows what I'm capable of and I know what he's capable of and if either one of us are slacking we can pick each other up."

Singleton is looking forward to getting back on the field during his senior season and improving even more.

"I'm looking forward to having a much better season than last year," he said. "I just want to go deep into the playoffs, but we have to go one game at a time and just take it slow."
