Though not nearly as star-studded of a recruiting weekend as last, there was one big name making his official visit to Ohio State this weekend and it was Castle Rock (Colo.) Valor Christian product Alex Kozan. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound prospect is one of Ohio State's top recruiting targets and the big lineman had a great time on his trip to Columbus.

"It was awesome," said Kozan. "I got there Friday afternoon and started off looking at the Fisher College of Business and looked at their academic support building and met with the people there. There's a ton of support if you're an athlete at Ohio State, it's hard to go wrong."

On Friday, Kozan also met with some of the coaches and players as he started to get a feel for the campus.

"I went out with coach (Greg) Gillum and Kirk Barton, the offensive line (graduate assistant) and my host on the first night Nick Vannett," he explained. "We went to Eddie George's restaurant and from there I hung out with Nick and learned more about what it was like at Ohio State."

The highlight of just about any official visit is the game day experience and Kozan was able to take all of the traditions in.

"Saturday I woke up and went to the team breakfast and met with the strength and conditioning coach," he said. "I got to learn more about their program and what they're all about. From there, I went to the Skull Session and I saw the band and how much everyone cares about the Buckeyes so that was great to see the fan support."

As for the actual game, though the score was probably closer than the coaching staff would have liked, it made for an exciting experience for the big lineman.

"I had a blast at the game," he said. "I had great seats and got to see everything. Seeing them pull off the win was great and from there, I went out with coach (Jim) Bollman for dinner and my host for the second night, Jeff Heuerman."

Kozan also toured the Woody Hayes Center on Sunday with Bollman and head coach Luke Fickell before heading back to Colorado. Kozan said the visit was everything he was hoping it would be.

"Overall, it was a great visit and I couldn't ask for anything more," he said. "I didn't commit because I'm still taking my time with this process but at the same time, Ohio State was a great visit. I want to make a decision by the end of December."

Kozan said he is still a month or two away from a final decision but is hoping to narrow his list down in the near future.

"I'm in the process of narrowing things down to a couple of schools," he said. "I don't think I'll take any visits in the next month just because of playoffs and everything but hopefully in December. I'm not completely sure (which other schools he will visit). I'll probably visit LSU but outside of that, I'm just not sure."

Ohio State appears very likely to make that final cut as the weekend official visit gave Kozan an added level of comfort with the coaching staff and the campus in general.

"It definitely made me more comfortable," he said. "It seems like if you're a Buckeye and you're respectful and responsible that you're always going to get taken care of. A lot of people talked about that, just with the great fans and great support."
