Eagles surge with Maryland QB

Brendan Marshall had a chance to visit Boston College for the first time late last month and the Olney (Md.) Good Counsel quarterback enjoyed himself.

In fact, after the visit Marshall is now saying Boston College has surged to the top of his list, along with one other ACC school.

"I'm really liking Boston College and Virginia," Marshall said. "Boston College hasn't offered yet but I'm going to go back and camp this summer."

What did the Eagles show him to make such a strong impression?

"It was just great," he recalled. "It was kind of like Virginia, just the campus. The city's real nice, too.

"We got there and they introduced us to all the coaches. We met our recruiting coach, Ryan Day, and they showed us around the whole campus."

While the Eagles didn't offer the 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback, they did tell him that he's high on their radar.

"Basically they just said they'll recruit me and they'll be checking me out. They want me to come back over the summer for workouts."

Marshall hopes to make his decision before the start of his senior year at Good Counsel. He currently has verbal offers from Virginia and Cal.
