Prep target is one to watch

Sadiq Olanrewaju is a name not many Boston College fans are likely to be aware of. Perhaps it's time to get acquainted.

The former Maryland native is spending the year at Salisbury School in Connecticut.

Olanrewaju is an emerging lineman with the built and athleticism to play on either side of the ball and he has recently picked up offers from Virginia and Temple.

When he was putting together a list of schools he was hoping to be recruited by not too long ago Boston College came up.

"Boston College, the academics are pretty strong there," he said. "Boston College puts a lot of good talent into the NFL. I'm not saying those are my ambitions right now but that tells you how good of a football team they have. I think they had a few guys on the Giants, some big impact players.

"I've known about Boston College for some time and the academics are great. It's not by any means an easy school to get into. It's a challenging program athletically and academically. I'll probably be visiting Boston College sometime."

BC has had limited contact with Olanrewaju but you can expect the communication to increase.

"I've talked with their recruiting coach, (Mike) Siravo. He's probably the only one on the staff that I've talked to.

"They said they liked me a lot and want me to come visit the campus in the spring. I guess after that we can get into talks about an offer."

Olanrewaju went on to say that he thinks he has received an invitation to Boston College but he hasn't been able to work out that trip yet. He hopes to visit in the spring.

The two-way lineman went on to say that he doesn't have any favorites.
