Sooners Stay Ahead of the Game with Barrett

When you ask Dallas Skyline 2014 offensive tackle prospect, Ty Barrett who the first program was to show him interest, he will respond with Oklahoma. The 6-foot-5 and 295-pound prospect said his first letter he ever received was from the Sooners. Today while in Norman along with his mom, grandpa, and little brother, head coach Bob Stoops followed through even more with that interest and let Barrett know he had a scholarship offer.

"Well first one of the assistants came down and told me and my family, 'coach Stoops wants you up stairs in his office'. Coach (Bruce) Kittle met us up there and coach is on crutches because he had surgery on his toe. He was sitting on the couch and I was sitting in the chair and my mom was sitting in a chair and my grandpa was sitting in a chair. He told me all the things he liked about me and that they wanted to offer me a scholarship," Barrett explained.

Hearing the news from Stoops was a shock to Barrett that left him speechless for a second or two.
