Ballage is Open to All Comers
It wasn't that long ago that Oklahoma's presence in Colorado was an annual thing from the early days recruiting players like Zach Latimer to signing an eventual national championship competing offensive line duo from the Rockies - Jon Cooper and Phil Loadholt. However in recent years the Sooners have been notably absent from The Centennial State making just three scholarship offers in the state in the last five classes.
However, Oklahoma decided late last week to get serious with one of the country's fastest rising athletes, Falcon, Colo. star Kalen Ballage. Though the offer came as something of a surprise to 6-foot-2, 216-pound prospect that's not to say he lacks for interest.
"I didn't know I was getting an offer, this is all new to me. The last couple of schools I have offers from I had not heard from before. I just randomly got the offer to find out what's going on with that," Ballage said. "I have also recently picked up offers from Oklahoma, Washington, Washington State, and also Tulsa.
"Definitely with Tulsa, I even gotten letters from Oklahoma, it's really random to me. Washington State I spoke with a little bit, I didn't really talk to any guys."
