Bam Bam on UNC radar

Edrice Adebayo is a 6-9, 237-pound basketball prospect from Northside High School in rural Jacksonville, NC. The 16-year old sophomore has been drawing quite a few visitors to the laid-back countryside in the eastern part of the state.

One of them, very recently, was UNC head coach, Roy Williams.

"Carolina is loving him," said Eric Peartree, Adebayo's mentor/trainer and family friend. " They like the big fella. He's very strong and athletic and they like the way he runs the floor. Roy really likes him and they want to see him continue to work and get better. We want him to keep getting better so that everyone loves him."

Peartree has been working with Adebayo, who commonly goes by "Bam" for three years.

"I went and got him in the 7th grade. He hadn't been playing organized ball, so I have been working with him for three years and from where he started to where he is now, is just something," said Peartree.

" I am a coach and I have been mentoring him. Showing him how to be a man, training him and he's like a son to me. He's always with me."

The sophomore played last AAU season with the Karolina Diamonds as well as Boo Williams summer league, from the high profile Nike EYBL circuit.

Adebayo started off playing with the 15U team before playing with the 17U team towards the end of the summer, when many college programs got to see him play.

Ever since then, the interest in Bam has been growing, evolving and changing.

Peartree estimates that Adebayo has roughly ten offers to date and he counts NC State, Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, ODU, Maryland, Georgetown and Kentucky as some of the most interested programs.

This summer, when Adebayo plays alongside 2016's top center prospect, Thon Maker, they will form one of the best frontcourts on the summer circuit.

"They will have him and Thon and everyone coming back. They're going to make even more noise then."
