The Next Switzer?

It's Friday, so lets have a little fun here at THI.

Last season, Ryan Switzer exploded onto the scene as a true freshman for the Tar Heels. He tied an NCAA single-season record with five punt returns for touchdowns and also caught 32 passes for 341 yards and three scores.

It wasn't just Switzer's performances that quickly made him the most recognized Tar Heel nationally - see his many pre-season honors leading into the coming campaign - but also his style, exuberance and personality that has given the program one of its most interesting players in some time. The 5-foot-10, 180-poind native of Charleston, WV, embraces the attention and self-confidence isn't close to being an issue.

Now, it would be unfair to place expectations on any of Carolina's current freshmen to match what Switzer did last season, though some observers and fans may see that potential in running back Elijah Hood. But it's Friday and we're going to have some fun with this. So, this week's super informal "poll" for the THI community is this: Which freshman will have the biggest breakout season this fall and why?

You can include redshirt freshmen, too, which should make this a bit more interesting. We ask that you carry this over to a thread we established on the premium board to post your responses and be a part of the dialogue.

So lets have at it!
