Five-star receiver talks recruiting

Memphis (TN) Harding Academy five-star wide receiver Marlon Brown is getting as much attention as anyone across the country during the evaluation period. Different college coaches are showing up daily to check on the 6-foot-5 playmaker. We thought we would join the college coaches at Harding Academy, so we visited Brown recently and sat down with him for this exclusive interview.

Brown is a very humble and modest young man that is handling all of the attention as good as anyone. There has not been a day since the evaluation period began that at least one school did not visit Harding Academy.

Major programs from coast to coast are targeting this big receiver, and he has narrowed it down to 17 schools at this time.

Another cut is coming in the near future, and he talks about that and more in this exclusive interview.

If you were unable to view the interview at this time, then here are a few quotes from Brown.

"I have just been soaking it in pretty much. I have just been listening to my coaches and they have been telling me to stay humble about it, so that is what I have been doing."

"I get about 15 [letters] here and 15 at home, so I get about 30 in all [a day]."

"[Getting phone calls] has been like an every other day thing. Stanford has called, Mississippi State has called, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and USC. There is a lot more."

"They [Aaron Murray - UGA commitment and Matt Barkley - USC commitment] say about the same thing [when they call me]. Just come to my school and we will have a good time together."

"I am looking at both coaches and both facilities (football and basketball), and I am just looking to go in and to work hard. If I get a spot, then I get a spot, if I don't, then I am going to work any harder."

"I can go up and get. I can go across the middle and catch a pass. I don't mind getting hit."

"I am looking for great coaching. I am looking at their schedule and the conference they play in. The next cut will probably be at the end of June. I will get it down to 10 or 12."
