Trice has made it through tough times

It was one of the toughest decisions Marcus Trice ever had to make. Marcus's mother Charissie Evans and his little brother Marquise were moving to St. Louis, so Charissie could be with her mother who was dying of cancer.

At age 14, Marcus had to decide whether to move with his family to Missouri, or stay in the football hotbed of Mesquite, Texas where he would have his greatest shot to continue his football career after high school. Trice knew that staying in Texas was best for his future, even if it meant being separated from his mother who had played such a prominent role in shaping his life.
