Rivals100 WR schedules official visits

Rivals100 wide receiver Marlon Brown is used to a busy schedule. When he isn't playing football he is playing basketball for his high school or his AAU team and he never seems to have a spare moment. As active as he is, it makes sense that Brown has already got his calendar packed with official visit plans.

Last weekend, Brown got his visits kicked off with an unofficial trip to Tennessee and despite the loss to Florida, he had a good time in Knoxville.

"It went real good," Brown said of the trip. "I talked to Coach Fulmer Coach Drayton and Coach Scott before and after the game. When I got there I was at basketball practice for a little bit. I talked to Coach Pearl too."

Brown is not finished with Knoxville. He anticipates heading back to Tennessee for an official visit at a future date. The Volunteers join four other schools that top Brown's list, all of which should expect official visits. Along with Tennessee, the list consists of Georgia, Ohio State, LSU and Florida and Brown is not wasting time getting his visits started.

"I'm taking my first official visit this weekend to Georgia," he said. "I'm real excited about getting down there."

Brown has been texting and talking with Georgia quarterback commit Aaron Murray and he expects to meet the fellow Rivals100 member on the trip to Athens. The tour will then continue on.

"The next one is going to be Ohio State," he said. "I'm going there the 11th of October. The next one after that will be Florida on the 15th of November but then I have no idea about the LSU visit or the Tennessee visit again."

While Brown concedes that the five schools that he is visiting consist of his favorites, he hasn't singled anyone out among the group.

"It's the same old, same old," he said. "I'm all even right now to be honest."

On all of his visits, like his Tennessee unofficial, Brown expects to meet with the basketball coaches as two sports remain a serious desire of his. He also has a tentative date on which he hopes to have his decision by: Jan. 31.

In between visits, Brown is picking up right where he left off from last year on the football field and he is even getting more opportunities than he has in the past in the passing game.

"We are 4-1 right now," he said. "I think I have like eight receiving touchdowns and 3 or four rushing touchdowns. This year I'm getting a lot more passes. I'm doing everything, curls, slants, streaks, all that stuff. For some reason this year teams feel so bold they're just playing me man and I'm eating them up."
