Glaud visits Iowa City
New Jersey linebacker Ka'lial Glaud made his first official visit this past weekend with a trip to the University of Iowa. The 6-foot-2, 217-pound Glaud had a game on Friday night, but left bright and early on Saturday in order to make it to Kinnick Stadium to watch the Hawkeyes' game against Purdue.
The three-star prospect attends the same high school as Iowa star running back Shonn Greene, who graduated from Winslow Township four years ago. Glaud says everyone back home is glad to see Greene make a name for himself nationally this year as he ranks among the top running backs in the country.
Glaud's older brother, Anthony, received some interest from Iowa coming out of high school three years ago, but eventually signed with Bowling Green and ended up transferring to Delaware State this past year. The brothers have a much bigger connection to Iowa than just attending the same high school as Shonn Greene though, as they are nephews of former Hawkeye great Leroy Smith.
Even with Iowa's connections, it is not going to be easy to get Glaud as he has an impressive list of scholarship offers, which includes schools such as West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Rutgers, and Boston College, among others.
Up next, Glaud has official visits scheduled to West Virginia on December 5 and Maryland on December 12. He also plans to visit North Carolina in either December or January and is looking at Rutgers or Tennessee for his fifth and final visit. Currently, he plans to make a decision sometime in January.
