Houston-area receiver on the map

Humble High School, located just north of the Houston city limits, has produced its fair share of college and professional football players. Current and former NFL players such as Bertrand Berry, David Boston, David Givens, Jackie Battle and Sammy Davis have all passed through the Wildcat program. It should come as no surprise, then, that there is a top receiver for the class of 2010 walking the halls of the school.

In a class that is very deep in wide receivers across the entire state of Texas, Humble's Darius Tubbs has already made a name for himself. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound junior is already hearing from a number of colleges.

"Yes sir, I'm hearing from a lot of schools," he said. "I haven't been offered by anybody yet, but there are a lot of schools showing interest. Alabama, Texas Tech, Colorado State, Iowa State, Houston, (Texas) A&M and Arizona have been writing the most."

This past weekend, the Houston-area star made the short drive to College Station for Texas A&M's early junior day. He says he came away impressed with everything he saw, especially the importance they placed on academics.
