Jackson jumps on board with the mountaineers
Joseph Jackson is one of the top linebackers in the state of Florida. Earlier this evening, Jackson decided on where he will attend college.First Coast high school (Jacksonville, FL) pumps out Division 1 football prospects every year. This year is no different as
"I committed to West Virginia University. I am so excited to be a Mountaineer and I don't see that changing anytime soon."
Currently up to 15 offers, Jackson felt that West Virginia was the best place for him to continue his education.
"WVU is a terrific school. They have great coaching, awesome facilities and the players I met were all very cool. They were very humble, honest and encouraging about the school. It is clear that they are enjoying their experiences at West Virginia."
The 6-foot-2, 210 pound linebacker was very excited to receive the WVU a few months ago and it was a certain coach that he really took a liking to.
"Coach (Robert) Gillespie is the man. I really like all the coaches there, but Coach Gillespie is who really helped make this decision easy. I can't wait to get there and start playing for them."
With the commitment to West Virginia out of the way, Jackson still would like to take some visits during his senior season.
"I chose West Virginia because of the staff, the academics, and the school itself, but I do want to take some visits just to make sure my decision is the best. I doubt I will find anything better than what I see at West Virginia. They have everything I am looking for and more. A couple other schools did stand out to me, like South Carolina, South Florida, Central Florida, Miami and Auburn. Like I said though, I highly doubt I'll be somewhere other than WVU."
Jackson chose West Virginia over offers from the likes of Miami, Auburn, Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, UCF, USF and Notre Dame.
