Ibrahim will give Eagles a look

Heading into last week Rachid Ibrahim had a couple of offers but they were both from the mid-major ranks. Now he has a BCS offer to go with those other two.

East Carolina was the first school to offer the 6-foot-2, 170-pound athlete from Maryland, but Ohio and Boston College followed shortly thereafter.

Both Ibrahim and his teammate, Jacquille Veii, will be visiting West Virginia this Thursday, and after that they're both trying to make it out to Duke and Boston College.

Where do the Eagles stand with the Gaithersburg (Md.) The Avalon School athlete?

"I'm definitely looking at Boston College," Ibrahim told EagleAction.com. "We talk very often. In fact, we were talking yesterday. Coach Al Washington is recruiting me.

"We get along real well. He's a real excited guy and he brings a lot of fire. He's like, 'Rachid, I really like your tape and I'm going to do everything I can do land you.'

"He's a real nice guy. He's got character. I like him a lot from the way he was talking to me on the phone. He asks me about my family and the other day we were actually talking about the Final Four."

Is there a chance Ibrahim and Veii might end up at the same school?

"Right now we only have one offer that's the same and that's Boston College," Ibrahim said.

"I couldn't tell you if we'll end up at the same school together. If we end up liking the same school that's okay. If the school I pick is the school Jacquille picks that's great," he said.

"I don't have any favorites though. I really want to go on my visits first before I pick any favorites. I'll probably have some favorites in the middle of the summer or later in the summer."

Most schools have recruited Ibrahim as an athlete. East Carolina has said they would prefer safety while Ohio appears torn between running back and defensive back.

Boston College is the only school that has recruited Ibrahim strictly as an offensive player.
