Trio of signees reporting

A trio of Auburn basketball signees are set to arrive on campus and begin classes this week.

Lithonia (Ga.) Southwest Dekalb Rivals100 guard Jordan Price, Florissant (Mo.) McCluer North forward Jordon Granger, and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy guard Brian Greene Jr. are all set to start classes during the first summer semester. Price and Greene Jr. are on campus as of Tuesday, and Granger will be in Auburn on Wednesday.

Virginia transfer K.T. Harrell is also likely to report to Auburn this week.

Price and Granger plan to room together. Granger is actually boarding a Greyhound bus at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning and will arrive in Auburn later Wednesday evening.

"I'm ready to get there and gain this weight, put in some work and win a championship" Granger said.

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton Rivals250 guard Shaquille Johnson, Marietta (Ga.) Chattahoochee Technical College center Asauhn Dixon-Tatum, and Decatur (Ga.) Georgia Perimeter C.C. forward Sharief Adamu plan to report in the second summer semester, starting in late June.

Dixon-Tatum is currently finishing up his last semester in junior college and is confident he will be in Auburn soon.

"With the work ethic I have, there won't be anything keeping me from getting there," Dixon-Tatum said.

The class of six that includes a pair of state champions in Johnson and Granger, and a state runner-up in Price have high expectations to help build a foundation for Tony Barbee's program in the future.

Johnson was the first pledge in Auburn's 2012 class in February of 2011, followed shortly after by Price in June of 2011. Granger and Dixon-Tatum committed one week apart in October of 2011, with Greene Jr. committing two months ago in March, and Adamu signing with the Tigers just six days ago.

Much of this class is expected to compete for playing time as freshman next season after the recent departures of freshmen Willy Kouassi and Bernard Morena due to transfer, and Josh Langford and Cedric McAfee due to dismissal. Not to mention Varez Ward's uncertain future.
