Last Game
VIRGINIA: QB Michael Rocco's 10-yard touchdown pass to TE Jake McGee with six seconds left lifted the Cavaliers to a heart-stopping win over the visiting Hurricanes. Rocco threw four touchdown passes on the day as Virginia posted its second straight win. Miami freshman RB Duke Johnson ran for 150 yards, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and threw a TD pass, and QB Stephen Morris threw three touchdown passes for the Hurricanes. Rocco completed 29-of-37 passes for 300 yards, and two of his touchdown passes came in the final 5:33 of the game. Johnson recorded 368 all-purpose yards for the Hurricanes, the highest total ever for an ACC freshman and 4th-best single-game effort overall. Final score: Virginia 41, Miami 40

NORTH CAROLINA: In a game that saw an ACC-record 118 combined points scored, the Yellow Jacket prevailed and kept their hopes of a Coastal Division title alive. The teams combined for 1,085 yards while surpassing the previous ACC mark of 110 points set in Virginia's 63-47 victory over Tulane in 1968. Eleven players scored touchdowns. Georgia Tech RB Robert Godhigh rushed for two touchdowns and caught a third. DB Jamal Golden returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score -- his second TD kickoff return of the season -- and backup QB Vad Lee rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a third. North Carolina QB Bryn Renner threw two touchdown passes, while RBs Giovani Bernard and A.J. Blue each scored two touchdowns for North Carolina. Final score: Ga. Tech 68, North Carolina 50

Virginia-North Carolina Series
This will be the 117th installment of "The South's Oldest Rivalry," which saw the teams play for the first time in 1892 and played continuously since 1919. UNC leads the series 59-53-4 and has won two straight in the series, including a 44-10 win at Charlottesville in 2010 that marked the Tar Heels' first road win against the Cavaliers since 1981. UNC scored a 28-17 win last year in Chapel Hill as QB Bryn Renner threw two touchdown passes and RB Ryan Houston ran for two scores. UVa needs a win against UNC and one against Virginia Tech on Nov. 24 to be bowl-eligible.

Virginia-North Carolina Notes
UVA: Virginia's one-point win over Miami, 41-40, ties for the third-highest scoring one-point victory in league history. Duke and North Carolina combined for 89 points in a 45-44 UNC win in 2006. Wake Forest and North Illinois totaled 83 points in a 42-41 NIU win and UNC and Duke collaborated for 81 points in a 41-40 Tar Heel triumph in 1994.

UVA: With 349 career tackles, Steve Greer is No. 1 among active ACC players, is tied for No. 8 among active FBS players (Only active BCS player with more career tackles is Notre Dame's Manti Te'o) and No. 9 all-time at UVa.

UVA: With four career 300-yd passing games, QB Michael Rocco trails only Matt Schaub (8) and Aaron Brooks (6) for most in UVa history. Rocco's performance against Miami was only the 38th time a UVa QB has passed for 300 yards or more in program history. In two career games against the Hurricanes, Rocco is 40-of-57 (70.2 percent) for 526 yards and six TDs (zero INTs).

UNC: In just eight games this season, North Carolina sophomore TB Giovani Bernard has already topped the 1,000-yard mark for the second time in his career. Bernard, who totaled 1,253 yards as a redshirt freshman, becomes only the second player in ACC history to have rushed for 1,000 or more yards in his freshman and sophomore seasons joining former UNC standout Amos Lawrence, who has 1,211 yards as a freshman in 1977 and added 1,043 yards as a sophomore in 1978.

UNC: Carolina is averaging 488.7 yards per game, which is more than 40 yards per game more than the single-season school record of 441.8 in 1983.
