Friday Night Lights: Week 3

Week three for high school football is here, as it looks like everyone in the 2014 class for the Tar Heels have started their season. If one wants to know where these recruits will be playing at this week, Tar Heel Illustrated is the place to be.

The 2014 UNC recruits are still in their out of conference part of schedule, with several teams travelling throughout the country. The schools in Virginia and Georgia started their season last week, with a few schools getting in the win column.

After their games on Friday, there should be several recruits heading to Chapel Hill to get a taste of what college football could be like, when the Tar Heels host Middle Tennessee State in their home opener.

Check back every week for where the players will be, as we continue with week 2 and what happened last week in the season opening.


Elijah Hood - Charlotte Catholic (1-1)
Sept 7: @ Charlotte Country Day
- After winning in week one, Charlotte Catholic couldn't get by Northwestern (SC), losing 38-17.

Cameron Albright - North Cobb (1-0)
Sept 6: Off
- North Cobb is off this week after defeating Starr's Mill last week 48-7

Josh Allen - University Christian School (1-1)
Sept 6: vs Providence (Jacksonville, FL)
- University Christian came back strong to win last week against Carrollwood Day 47-0

Allen Artis - Wheeler (1-0)
Sept 6: @ Pope (Marietta, GA)
- Coming off a bye week.

Tajze Battle - Dunbar (1-1)
Sept 6: @ South Fort Myers (Fort Myers, FL)
- Lost to Naples, Fl in a close game 21-13.

Cayson Collins - Berry Academy (0-1)
Sept 6: vs Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC)
- Berry Academy was off last week.

Ayden Bonilla - Etowah (1-0)
Sept 6: vs Centennial (Roswell, GA)
- Defeated Lambert last week 27-10. Bonilla is out for the season.

Robert Dinkins - Olympic (1-0)
Sept 6: @Independence (Charlotte, NC)
- Olympic was off last week

Malik Carney - T.C. Williams (2-0)
Sept 6: @ Centreville (Clifton, VA)
- T.C. Williams continued their dominance last week over Oakton, winning 38-2

Caleb Henderson - Lake Braddock (1-0)
Sept 6: @ Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA)
- Lake Braddock started their season last week, defeating Robinson 38-22

Caleb Samuel - First Presbyterian Day (0-1)
Sept 6: @ Pike County (Zebulon, GA)
- Presbyterian started their season last week, losing to 36-10 to George Walton Academy

Jeremiah Clarke - T.C Williams (2-0)
Sept 6: @ Centreville (Clifton, VA)
- T.C. Williams continued their dominance last week over Oakton, winning 38-2

Tyler Powell - Cosby (0-2)
Sept 6: Matoaco (Chesterfield, VA)
- Will be having their first home game of the season, after losing to Dale last week 21-14

Marvin Stewart - Yorktown (1-0)
Sept 6: @ Langley (McLean, VA)
- Defeated Coolidge last week 49-0

Tyrell Tomlin - Marietta (2-0)
Sept 6: Off
- Marietta took down Pope last week 63-13

Austin Proehl - Providence (1-1)
Sept 6: @ Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)
- Providence got back on track with a 52-22 win over East Mecklenburg

Freeman Jones - Bunn (1-1)
Sept 6: @ Southern Nash (Bailey, NC)
- Bunn was able to score the win in dominating fashion last week, winning 51-20.

Brandon Fritts - Mentor (1-0)
Sept 6: vs. St. Ignatuis (Cleveland, OH)
- Brandon Fritts and company started the season off with a win against McDowell, winning 44-30.

Josh Cabrera - Northside (1-1)
Sept 6: @ Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC)
- Northside was able to squeak by with a win last week 15-12 over White Oak

Avery Edwards - Ravenscroft (1-1)
Sept 6: @ Cardinal Gibbons
- Faced a tough Providence Day school last week, losing 34-21 last week.

Bentley Spain - Providence (1-1)
Sept 6: @ Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)
- Providence got back on track with a 52-22 win over East Mecklenburg

Throughout the season, Tar Heel Illustrated will give the fans information about where the future Tar Heels might be playing in the upcoming weeks and update the fans about how each team is doing week in and week out.. All over the country, one will be able to catch a glimpse of some future Tar Heels, as they continue to grow and compete against teams around their area.
