Friday Night Lights: Sept 20

High School football is in full gear this season, as throughout the country, recruits will be looking to make a name for themselves on Friday night, as they continue their dream to play in college.

Tar Heel Illustrate has been tracking several of these recruits, as North Carolina is winding down on their 2014 recruiting class. Here is a chance for you the fans to see where the next Tar Heels will be playing this Friday night.

Check back every week for where the players will be, as we continue with week 2 and what happened last week in the season opening.


Elijah Hood - Charlotte Catholic (2-2)
Sept 20: Bye
- Charlotte Catholic is coming off a 52-7 against the top team in North Carolina in Mallard Creek, where the offense couldn't get anything going but Hood had over 100 yards.

Cameron Albright - North Cobb (1-1)
Sept 20: Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw, GA)
- North Cobb is coming off their first loss of the season against Walton, as the Warriors fell 28-13 last week.

Josh Allen - University Christian School (2-1)
Sept 20: Christ's Church Academy (Jacksonville, FL)
- University Christian School was off last week.

Allen Artis - Wheeler (2-1)
Sept 20: Etowah (Woodstock, GA)
- Allen Artis and company suffered their first loss of the season against Hughes, falling 37-28 last week.

Tajze Battle - Dunbar (1-2)
Sept 20: BYE
- Dunbar was able to get their first win against Riverdale last week, defeating them 28-21. Dunbar have suffered some early, close losses so far, but were able to turn the table last week.

Cayson Collins - Berry Academy (0-3)
Sept 20: West Charlotte
- Berry Academy is still searching for their first win of the season, coming off a heartbreaking loss at Brown last week, losing 45-39.

Ayden Bonilla - Etowah (3-0)
Sept 20: @ Wheeler (Marietta, GA)
- Etowah continues to surprise people so far this year, defeating Pope last week 41-7, as they are able to stay undefeated.

Robert Dinkins - Olympic (2-1
Sept 20: East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
- After suffering a tough and hard fought loss to Independence, Olympic got back on track defeating Hopewell 69-20 last week.

Malik Carney - T.C. Williams (1-1)
Sept 21: Langley (McLean, VA)
- Were on a bye last week

Caleb Henderson - Lake Braddock (2-0)
Sept 20: Westfield (Chantilly, VA)
- Lake Braddock was on a bye last week.

Caleb Samuel - First Presbyterian Day (0-2)
Sept 20: Pace Academy (Atlanta, GA)
- Presbyterian was on a bye last week.

Jeremiah Clarke - T.C Williams (2-0)
Sept 21: Langley (McLean, VA)
- Were on a bye last week

Tyler Powell - Cosby (2-2)
Sept 20: Huguenot (Richmond, VA)
- After losing their first two games, Cosby has been able reel off two victories, with their last being against Midlothian 28-14.

Marvin Stewart - Yorktown (1-1)
Sept 20: @ Edison
- Yorktown is coming off a bye week.

Tyrell Tomlin - Marietta (2-1)
Sept 20: McEachern (Powder Springs, GA)
- Marietta suffered their first loss last week to Hillgrove, losing 21-13 in a close matchup.

Austin Proehl - Providence (2-2)
Sept 20: Bye
- Providence is coming off a 21-14 win over Myers Park last week.

Freeman Jones - Bunn (1-3)
Sept 20: Louisburg
- Bunn struggled throughout the night against Corinth Holders and their run attack, losing 21-10 last week.

Brandon Fritts - Mentor (2-1)
Sept 20: @ Twinsburg
- Mentor got back on track after suffering their first loss, wining in fashion 36-0 of Euclid.

Josh Cabrera - Northside (2-2)
Sept 20: @ Havelock
- Northside was able to put up some points last week, winning 73-6 over Mattamuskeet.

Avery Edwards - Ravenscroft (1-3)
Sept 20: Pine Lake Prep
- Ravenscroft has dropped three in a row so far, after losing 35-25 last week to Charlotte Latin.

Bentley Spain - Providence (2-2)
Sept 20: Bye
- Providence is coming off a 21-14 win over Myers Park last week.

Throughout the season, Tar Heel Illustrated will give the fans information about where the future Tar Heels might be playing in the upcoming weeks and update the fans about how each team is doing week in and week out.. All over the country, one will be able to catch a glimpse of some future Tar Heels, as they continue to grow and compete against teams around their area.
