Result: North Cobb defeats McEachern 28-26.
Next Opponent: North Cobb will travel to Pebblebrook on October 25.
Notes: "We've only had two region championships in 54 years," North Cobb coach Shane Queen said. "This doesn't clinch it, but I doubt we would be in a position to if it hadn't been for this win. Now, we have the opportunity."---The Marietta Daily Journal

Game Stats: University Christian racked up 29 third quarter points and had touchdown runs of 57, 1, 2, 43, and 8 yards.
Result: University Christian defeats Harvest Community 60-7.
Next Opponent: University Christian will host Eagle's View on October 25.
Notes: The Christians are riding a two-game winning streak and sit at 5-2 for the year.
Allen Artis
School: Marietta (GA) Wheeler
Position: Defensive Back

Game Stats: Wheeler gave up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and one in overtime as they fell to their rivals Walton after leading by two scores late.
Result: Walton defeats Wheeler 35-28.
Next Opponent: Wheeler hosts Lassiter on October 25.
Notes: Allen Artis had a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown in the loss that almost sealed the win for his team before Walton made their improbable comeback.
Ayden Bonilla
School: Woodstock (GA) Etowah
Position: Defensive Back

Notes: Bonilla will miss the 2013 season due to knee injury.
Josh Cabrera
School: Jacksonville (NC) Northside
Position: Wide Receiver
Height: 6-2
Weight: 187
Game Stats: Josh Cabrera had a 10-yard touchdown reception. The two teams combined for 276 yards in penalties and a total of 32 flags were thrown.
Result: Northside defeats Dixon 40-13.
Next Opponent: Northside hosts South Onslow on October 25.
Notes: Northside coach Bob Eason had this to say to The Jacksonville Daily News after the game: "We'll take it, a win's a win in this conference," Eason said. "We've got three games left. We're still undefeated so we've still got a shot at maybe a conference championship. So everything's still in front of us. We ain't got to backtrack any. So we'll see what happens."
Malik Carney
School: Alexandria (VA) T.C. Williams
Position: Linebacker

Game Stats: Carney has 497 yards rushing for the Titans this season.
Result: T.C. Williams defeats Lee 32-0.
Next Opponent: T.C. Williams hosts Lake Braddock on October 26.
Notes: The Titans bounced back nicely from their defeat to South County last week with the win. Next week they take on UNC quarterback commit Caleb Henderson.
Jeremiah Clarke

Game Stats: The Clarke led defense pitched a shutout, the first of the season for the Titans.
Result: T.C. Williams defeats Lee 32-0.
Next Opponent: T.C. Williams will host Lake Braddock on October 26.
Notes: The Titans will take on Northern Virginia power and Caleb Henderson led Lake Braddock next week. The game will feature three future Tar Heels.
Cayson Collins
School: Charlotte (NC) Phillip O'Berry Academy of Technology
Position: Linebacker

Game Stats: Berry scored a season high 49 points while there defense tied its season mark for fewest points allowed in a game.
Result: Berry Academy defeats Harding University 49-14.
Next Opponent: Berry Academy will host Ardrey Kell on October 25.
Notes: The win ended Berry's three-game losing streak.
Robert Dinkins
School: Charlotte (NC) Olympic
Position: Defensive End
Height: 6-1

Game Stats: Olympics defense gave up 265 yards on 21 carries and allowed three touchdowns to West Meck running back Shaun Wilson.
Result: West Mecklenburg defeats Olymmpic 41-8.
Next Opponent: Olympic hosts South Mecklenburg on October 25.
Notes: Attending the Zero Dark Thirty game the night before in Chapel Hill, it was noted by THI publisher Adam Powell that Robert Dinkins was sporting a cast. The defense appeared to take a hit as their leader was injured during the game.
Avery Edwards
School: Raleigh (NC) Ravenscroft
Position: Tight End
Height: 6-5

Game Stats: Edwards had two catches for 66 yards. He was held without a touchdown in this one.
Result: Ravenscroft defeats North Raleigh Christian 65-12.
Next Opponent: Ravenscroft will host Charlotte Christian aon October 25.
Notes: The Ravens are currently riding a three-game winning streak and sit at 5-4 for the season.
Lorenzo Featherston
School: Greensboro (NC) Page
Position: Defensive End

Game Stats: Page scored 33 unanswered points at one point during the game to take control and become victorious.
Result: Page defeats Grimsley 43-14.
Next Opponent: Page hosts Ben L. Smith on October 25.
Notes: "Our defense did a great job of bending, not breaking, and holding them to three points," said Page coach Kevin Gillespie to The Greensboro News and Record after the game. "Offensively, us taking it right down to score and ... the onslaught started right there.
Brandon Fritts
School: Menter (OH)
Position: Tight End

Game Stats: Fritts had nine catches for 128 yards including a 90-yard catch in the fourth quarter.
Result: Mentor defeats Salon 35-0.
Next Opponent: Mentor hosts Hudson on October 25.
Notes: "Our defense did a great job tonight," Mentor senior wide receiver Brandon Fritts said to The Cleveland Plain Dealer after the game. "We made some mistakes on offense early but were able to correct them."
Caleb Henderson
School: Burke (VA) Lake Braddock
Position: Quarterback
Height: 6-4
Weight: 223
Game Stats: Henderson was 11-20 with 120 yards passing and touchdown toss. He also ran for 73 yards on six carries.
Result: Lake Braddock defeats West Springfield 51-0.
Next Opponent: Lake Braddock will travel to T.C. Williams on October 26.
Notes: Lake Braddock is 7-0 on the season and takes on the Carney and Clarke led Titans defense of T.C. Williams in a critical Northern Virginia game next weekend. Henderson currently has an 85.2 quarterback rating, 1,035 yards passing and 11 touchdowns for the year.
Elijah Hood
School: Charlotte (NC) Catholic
Position: Running Back

Game Stats: Hood had 261 yards rushing on 21 carries with four touchdowns for good measure.
Result: Charlotte Catholic defeats South Mecklenburg 42-6.
Next Opponent: Charlotte Catholic will host West Mecklenburg on October 25.
Notes: Hood's run of terror during his career continued Friday night against South Meck. Hood now has 102 touchdowns in his high school tenure joining T. A. McLendon, Kevin Parks, Tommy Henry and Anthony Saunders in the North Carolina high school history books as the only running backs in the 100-touchdown club.
Freeman Jones
School: Bunn (NC)

Game Stats: Freeman had three made extra points.
Result: Bunn defeats Roanoke Rapids 28-13.

Game Stats: First Presbyterian Day's offense is averaging almost 40 points per game over their last three games.
Result: First Presbyterian Day defeats Hancock Central 41-8.

Bentley Spain
School: Charlotte (NC) Providence
Position: Offensvie Tackle

Game Stats: Providence's offensive line propelled their running game to four touchdowns in their victory.
Result: Providence defeats Ardrey Kell 31-13.
Next Opponent: Providence will host Harding University on October 25.
Notes: Providence will need to stay focused over the next two weeks as a big game with Charlotte Catholic looms in the season finale.
Marvin Stewart
School: Arlington (VA) Yorktown
Position: Defensive Back

Game Stats: Stewart had a somewhat tame performance compared to previous outings. The future Tar Heel corner had 96 yards on just six carries.
Result: Yorktown defeats Wakefield 44-13.
Next Opponent: Yorktown will host Chantilly on October 25.
Notes: Stewart had a 67-yard touchdown run and a 66-yard punt return score as he continues to dazzle onlookers and tantalize Tar Heel fans about his future prospects with UNC.
Tyrell Tomlin
School: Marietta (GA)
Position: Linebacker

Game Stats: The Blue Devils move to 5-2 on the season. The Tomlin led defense is averaging roughly 23 points per game this year.
Result: Marietta defeats Campbell 44-24.
Next Opponent: Marietta will host South Cobb on October 25.
Notes: "That Campbell team isn't atop the rankings in the region, but that is a tough football team," Marietta coach Scott Burton told The Marietta Daily Journal. "You got to pack your lunch and bring it every day in this region."
