Friday Night Lights: Oct 25

High School football is in full gear this season, as throughout the country, recruits will be looking to make a name for themselves on Friday night as they continue their dream to play in college.

Tar Heel Illustrated has been tracking these recruits, as several 2014 North Carolina recruits are playing Friday and Saturday night. Here is a chance for you, the fans, to see where the next Tar Heels will be playing this coming weekend and to possibly get go out and support the recruits.

The season is starting to wind down and teams are making a push for the playoffs, as they are right around the corner. Several of these upcoming games will help determine the playoff and conference champions, as some of the top teams in each conference battle it out on the field.

Check down below for recent updates throughout the season, as THI continues to update everyone on each recruits season so far.


Elijah Hood - Charlotte Catholic (6-2)
Oct 25: West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
- Charlotte Catholic and Hood took care of business and continued their four game winning streak, defeating South Mecklenburg 42-6 last week.

Cameron Albright - North Cobb (6-1)
Oct 25: @Pebblebrook (Mableton, GA)
- North Cobb has continued their terrific season so far, as they were able to win in a tight match up against McEachern, 28-26, last Friday night.

Josh Allen - University Christian School (5-2)
Oct 25: Eagle's View (Jacksonville, FL)
- Another blowout win for the Christians last week, as they dominated over Harvest Community 60-7.

Allen Artis - Wheeler (2-5)
Oct 25: Lassiter (Marietta, GA)
- Wheeler just can't catch a break after winning their first two games, suffering another close loss to Walton last week 35-28.

Tajze Battle - Dunbar (5-2)
Oct 25: @ Island Coast (Cape Coral, FL)
- The defense for Dubar has been on point the last few weeks, not allowing any opponent over 13 points in their last four wins. Last week , Dunbar was able to take care of Cape Coral with a 24-9 victory.

Cayson Collins - Berry Academy (2-6)
Oct 25: Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC)
- Cayson Collins and company took home a win and ended their three game losing streak behind a solid performance on both ends of the ball in a 49-14 win last week.

Ayden Bonilla - Etowah (6-1)
Oct 18: @ Cherokee (Canton, GA)
- Etowah suffered their first loss of the season against Cherokee last week, 28-21.

Robert Dinkins - Olympic (5-3)
Oct 25: South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
- Olympic suffered their first back to back losses of the season, after losing to Charlotte Catholic and now West Mecklenburg last week 41-8.

Malik Carney - T.C. Williams (5-2)
Oct 25: Lake Braddock (Burke, VA)
- T.C. Williams dominated from the start with a 32-0 victory and now will face Caleb Henderson and Lake Braddock, as Tar Heel Illustrated will be up covering the game.

Caleb Henderson - Lake Braddock (7-0)
Oct 26: @ T.C. Williams
- Another win, another shut out, as the Bruins now put their undefeated record against T.C. Williams and Malik Carny/Jeremiah Clarke. Tar Heel Illustrated will be covering the game.

Caleb Samuel - First Presbyterian Day (4-3)
Oct 25: @ Wilkinson County (Irwinton, GA)
- And First Presbyterian Day continues to roll, as their last win over Hancock Central (41-8) made it three in a row for the Vikings.

Jeremiah Clarke - T.C Williams (5-3)
Oct 25: Lake Braddock (Burke, VA)
- T.C. Williams dominated from the start with a 32-0 victory and now will face Caleb Henderson and Lake Braddock, as Tar Heel Illustrated will be up covering the game.

Tyler Powell - Cosby (5-3)
Oct 25: Bird (Chesterfield, VA)
- Cosby had a fine game winning streak before suffereing a heartbreaking 20-19 loss to Manchester last week. They will look to get back on track against a tough 7-0 Bird team this week.

Marvin Stewart - Yorktown (6-1)
Oct 25: Chantilly (Chantilly, VA)
- The victories keep on coming for Yorktown this year, as they are on a five game win streak after defeating Wakefield 44-13 last week. They will face Chantilly this week, as Tar Heel Illustrated will be there to cover the game.

Tyrell Tomlin - Marietta (5-2)
Oct 25: South Cobb (Austell, GA)
- Tomlin and company won last week on the road against Campbell 44-24, as their offense has been able to put up 30 or more points in their last four games.

Austin Proehl - Providence (5-3)
Oct 25: Harding University (Charlotte, NC)
- Providence took care of Ardrey Kell on the road easily last week, 31-13, and now will face Harding University, in what should be an easy victory for Providence. Proehl has 834 yards and five touchdowns on the year.

Freeman Jones - Bunn (5-3)
Oct 25: @ South Granville (Creedmoor, NC)
- Freeman Jones has 50 points on the year for Bunn, as he has kicked 32 extra points and is 6 of 10 on the year, with his longest being 47 yards so far.

Brandon Fritts - Mentor (6-1)
Oct 25: Hudson (Hudson, OH)
- Mentor took the road last week against Solon and forced a shutout (their third on the season) in a 35-0 victory. Fritts has 514 yards on the season and 6 touchdowns on the season.

Josh Cabrera - Northside (5-3)
Oct 25: Southwest Onslow (Jacksonville, NC)
- Northside got the win 40-13 over Dixon, but the game combined for over 270 yards in penalties and Dixon ran almost double the amount of plays than Northside. Tough matchup this week against Southwest Onslow

Avery Edwards - Ravenscroft (5-4)
Oct 18: North Raleigh Christian Academy (Raleigh, NC)
- Ravenscroft has been on a scoring streak lately, as they have scored 50 or more points in the last three games. Last week, they defeated North Raleigh Christian 65-12.

Bentley Spain - Providence (4-3)
Oct 25: Harding University (Charlotte, NC)
- Providence took care of Ardrey Kell on the road easily last week, 31-13, and now will face Harding University, in what should be an easy victory for Providence.

Throughout the season, Tar Heel Illustrated will give the fans information about where the future Tar Heels might be playing in the upcoming weeks and updates about how each team is doing week in and week out.

All over the country, one will be able to catch a glimpse of some future Tar Heels, as they continue to grow and compete against teams around their area.
