East Forsyth H.S. safety Khalid Martin received an offer from UNC last spring, and the skilled 6-1, 195-pound athlete from Kernersville, NC, desires more consistent communication from the Tar Heels.

The 3-star prospect also has offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and West Virginia, among others, but he’s interested in the Tar Heels and wants to learn more about them.

"I received an offer from UNC on April 24,” he told THI. “I haven't really heard much from the coaches since. I have always liked UNC."

Martin has taken several trips to UNC in the past. He has been able to take away one distinct trait every time he travels to Chapel-Hill.

"I like the traditional feeling you get as you walk around campus," he said.

He has yet to name an early favorite, however, he says UNC remains high on the list.

"The fact that UNC pulled the trigger and disappeared makes me wonder if I'm still on their board,” he admitted. “However, off the love I have for the program I would place them highly in my recruitment."

Martin is still in the process of scheduling visits to different programs. Despite the fact that he hasn't decided on a particular list of top schools, he has one major factor that will be the deciding factor in his recruitment.

"My decision will be made upon who shows me that they will love for me to be a part of their program and show me that I can grow into a man in their program."
