Tyler Davis, a 3-star class of 2019 defensive tackle from Wekiva High School in Apopka, FL, is still very much in the fact finding part of his recruitment, which includes a growing relationship with North Carolina tight ends coach Chad Scott.

"I have a good relationship with UNC, still trying to get to know them," the 6-1, 265 pounder told THI. "Coach Chad Scott is a great person. he is recruiting me hard."

The Tar Heels offered Davis last May, and even though he hasn't been on campus since, he is intrigued about what Carolina has to offer. UNC recently signed signed two of the area's top two offensive lineman, with Williams Barnes and Ed Montilus, from nearby Apopka High School, earlier this month.

Tar Heel Illustrated caught up with Davis to discuss where things stand in his recruitment.

Here is the Interview:

THI: What has Coach Scott said about what you can bring to the table as a defensive lineman?

Davis: He said I was a priority.

THI: Have you visited North Carolina before?

Davis: Yes

THI: When did that visit take place, and what did you think of the campus?

Davis: It was freshmen year, and the campus was beautiful.

THI: What are your strengths as a defensive lineman?

Davis: Quickness and strength.

THI: Other than UNC, what other schools are you looking to checkout moving forward?

Davis: Ohio State, Florida, Miami, NC. State, Michigan and Texas A&M.
