Class of 2020 safety Maleik Faust of Harding University in Charlotte, NC, was among a select host of prospects who visited Chapel Hill this past weekend to meet new North Carolina coach Mack Brown and his staff.

A 3-Star prospect, Faust is no stranger to Chapel Hill. He’s been on campus multiple times, but there was a different feeling about his visit Saturday.

“This time on campus was way different the atmosphere is just way more comfortable,” the 5-foot-11, 185 pounder told THI. “Then there is coach Tommy Thigpen, he’s a really cool person that knows what he is doing.”

So what did he get out of the visit?

“It was like an introduction, the visit helped me see the new staff,” he said. “I then had a chance to speak with Mack Brown but not about the defense just like a regular conversation, I cannot wait to get back.”

Aside from the Tar Heels, Faust has picked up offers from South Carolina, Penn State, Duke and West Virginia.

Faust’s UNC visits were last June, late July, twice in October and last week. Faust is the No. 22 safety in the nation in his class and the 15 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina.
