Dorman (SC) WR Jacoby Pinckney is excited over his recent offer from UNC and plans on taking in a game at Kenan this fall.

Class of 2019 3-star wide receiver Jacoby Pinckney of Dorman High School in Roebuck, SC, has a growing admiration for North Carolina.

Pinckney (6-3, 192) took a visit to UNC for a Junior Day recently and came away with something he wanted. Pinckney was extended an offer by the Tar Heels.

"Yes, I expected it, because it was at Junior Day and they told me they had big news for me when I came on my visit," Pinckney told THI.

UNC wide receivers coach Gunter Brewer is beginning to make an impact on Pinckney, thus his interest in the Heels is rising.

"I think he's a great coach, he has experience and he knows what he's doing," he said.

And what does Brewer like about Pinckney’s skills?

"He likes my size and hands and athleticism," he said.

Pinckney doesn’t lack confidence. Asked to describe what kind of player he is, he replied, "I would say like a Mike Williams, Deon Cain type of player."

Of course, UNC is no stranger to putting guys in the NFL, something that has gotten Pinckney’s attention. But he also says traditions and NFL players can be made and found anywhere.

“I don't put too much emphasis on that,” he said, referring to UNC’s draft success. “Because you can start a great receiver tradition anywhere. If you're that kind of player and I plan on being a player that's capable of that God willing."

As of now, no specific date is set for Pinckney’s next visit Chapel Hill, but he expects to take in a game at Kenan Stadium this coming season.

Other schools that Pinckney plans to check out include Virginia Tech, Indiana, Georgia and Wake Forest, each of which has offered him.
