Shane Lee, a 4-star linebacker from Baltimore, MD, is interested in a lot of schools, releasing a list of 18 in late May.

Among those schools was North Carolina, along with Notre Dame, Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU and many others, all of which have extended him an offer.

As for the Tar Heels, the class of 2019 star from St. Frances has been to Chapel Hill and really enjoyed the experience.

"It was nice. The campus was beautiful," he told THI. "It was a nice visit overall. I don't know much about them."

His main contact at UNC is defensive coordinator John Papuchis, who coached linebackers the last two years.

"It's stressful at times, but I just try and embrace it all," the 6 foot 6, 230 pounder told THI. "I'm truly blessed to be in this position." At the end of May, Lee posted his first 18 schools that peaked his interest, and among the dozen plus were the Heels. They talk fairly often, with Lee describing the conversations as “calm.” He’d like to get back to UNC fairly soon to learn more about all things Tar Heels football.

"My family and I would like to get back there," he said. "I think they're a good program."

Otherwise, he’s going to continue visiting many of the schools showing him a lot of interest.

"I've been all over," he said. "I've been to Maryland, Penn State, Ohio State, Florida State, Wisconsin, Clemson, and Notre Dame, and I'll also be going to Michigan and Pitt soon.”

Add UNC to that list, too.
