UNC defensive tackle Marvin Austin confirmed on his Twitter account New Year's Day that he's decided to return to North Carolina for his senior year.
"If you were wondering, I will be a Tar Heel for 2010," said Austin in the message.
Austin's return solidifies a UNC defense that already should be projected among the elite units in the ACC heading into the 2010 season.
As a junior in 2009 Austin recorded 42 tackles (22 solo), six tackles for loss, four sacks, six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one recovery, earning second-team All-ACC honors.
Although he likely would have gotten selected in the first two to three rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft, Austin's 'tweet' implied that he has unfinished business to take care of at UNC.
"I could go get paid but in some things it ain't all about the money. I love Carolina point blank," he said.
