Brian RackleyClick Here to view this Link., a UNC football commit, grew from a 6-2, 190-pound 10th grader to a dominating 6-6, 235-pounder as a senior at Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee.
Rackley is blessed with 4.9 40 speed, in his senior year - he collected 97 tackles, six sacks, eight tackles for losses and deflected eight passes. Central Florida, Iowa, Minnesota and Syracuse were among the schools that offered Rackley scholarships.
"He said he wanted to play in the ACC or SEC." according to Lawton Chiles coach Mike Hickman. "I think North Carolina's success this season helped. He liked Coach Bunting a lot. He had a great time in Chapel Hill on his visit. He's kind of quiet, but when he came home from Chapel Hill he told me how much he enjoyed the trip. He was more wide-eyed after coming home from North Carolina than he was on any other trip."
Hickman said Rackley is still maturing physically.
"He was a string bean as a sophomore, but he ran really well,'' Hickman said. "He still looks kind of skinny, but he's awfully strong. He's not a blazer when it comes to speed, but he's so quick laterally."
