Ethan White had a full day this past Saturday. A native of Clearwater, FL, White was in the Research Triangle checking out Duke in the morning and North Carolina in the afternoon and later at night for the Freak Show, which he was a participant.

A 6-5, 315-pound offensive tackle in the class of 2019, White has offers from the Blue Devils and Tar Heels, but also Louisville, Purdue and Iowa State among others. And with his stock growing, White is likely to get many more Power 5 offers before long.

UNC offered in early May, prompting his coach a Calvary Christian, Todd Yoder, to tell the Tampa Bay Times, "By the time spring is over he'll probably have every offer there is. They don't make them that big."

As of now, however, UNC is an important part of the process, something the Freak Show experienced helped immensely.

“The atmosphere of the camp was amazing I’ve never experienced a camp so fun and intense,” White told THI. “Even my mom had fun just watching.”

As for his performance and what UNC offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic said to him afterward?

“I think I did well the competition was great,” White said. “Coach Kap said I did good and what I need to work is just technique that can be taught.”

White said UNC’s interest in him was reinforced during his visit on both sides.

“Right now, they’re one of my top schools,” he said.

Why?

“I like that UNC isn’t only about sports, there is a balance football social and academics,” he said. “For the football program, I like that you set your own expectations for winning and you’re not compared to people before you.”

White isn’t in any hurry to think about a list much less release one. He’s still early in the fact-finding phase of this journey, but at least at this point, UNC is a factor.
