Kevin Knox, the nation’s No. 9 player from the class of 2017, made a huge step in his recruitment on Friday evening by slicing his college list to five schools.

Among the schools that made the final cut for the 6-8 athletic and versatile forward from Tampa (Florida) Catholic is North Carolina. Also making it: Kentucky, Kansas, Duke and Florida State.

Knox hosted John Calipari and Kentucky today for an in-home visit. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski is scheduled to do a presentation on Sunday and Roy Williams has his visit to Tampa to meet with the family next Wednesday. Florida State will also be in home with Knox the same day.

THI can confirm that the official visits are still being worked out with the five finalists.
